Urgent Town Mayors and Assistants.

If you are a town mayor or a town assistant, you are NOT allowed to remove structures in your town that you have not built. If a member is no longer in your town, or has not been active, you MUST wait until the player is no longer registered. To check if a player is registered you simply must type "/player <username>" If their information still exists, they are not inactive enough to have their things removed.

The rules state in black and white if it is not yours, do not touch it. If you do end up removing a house of structure that doesn't belong to you, you will be temporarily banned just like any other player. It is considered griefing whether it is in your town or not.

    Thank you as always.

    Sounds good.

Stupid. Considering if they registered 2 days before and have been unactive for 7 days, basically means they won't ever come back online.

Let me give a scenario: They've massively griefed, and were banned for 2 weeks. Your town rules state that they will be perma-kicked for griefing.

what if they have violated a town rule, such as building outside their plot without permission?

If the player is perm-banned, then you can remove the house if they've filed a ban appeal and we've decided not to unban. If the player was temp-banned, it'd be good if you could wait for the player to remove their things themselves.

Maybe you should be careful about who you allow in your town then? People have other things they have to do. If they're offline for a week, they could simply be on vacation. You should have plenty of plots in your towns so one doesn't make a big difference.

How long does it take for that player to no longer be registered? Just curious.

    Matsdur Well-Known Member

    Pretty sure it's a month.

It changes depending on how long I wish to store the information, but at the moment it's about 35 days.

Well, good thing this was already the system (for the most part) in Mythrim...

Mythrim already has a system set up and it has been up for some months now :)

Thanks for the advisement. I've been until now giving about three weeks until I put their plot on the market. I guess it just has to wait until they time out totally though. Somewhat unfortunate as this ties up the plot for longer (especially when they've been removed for taxes and are no longer contributing to upkeep), but I understand the rationale.

But what if the player couldn't afford the tax and got kicked? Does that mean you can't remove their structures?

    AGK47 Well-Known Member

I think this is partially meant to combat that.

It clutters up the town's plots. If the player may come back, then sure keep it. But if they're not, then just destroy it. Why waste valuable space? Opportunity cost, my friends!

Cost of doing business. It beats getting banned.

Owning a town does not allow you to grief. It's as simple as that. If the player is still registered on this server, it's griefing. Occasionally I've seen exceptions made for perm-bans and very little else.

The most successful towns already do this anyway.

LexyInvincible bill1993 ProjectInfinity Is there to be any alterations to crime punishment as well? The way I see it is that if certain crimes are committed (x-ray and other serious crimes) such a punishment they might receive if they belong to a town is that the mayor has complete right to remove any structures owned by them 3 days after the punishment is given (removal times vary depending on the severity of the crime).

Would such things be allowed for mayors to do? If so what crimes would allow or not allow this to be done? and What time lengths would mayors have to wait to be able to remove the players structures?
